There are ample reasons why PC owners envy Mac owners. PC owners are too cheap to pay for music downloads whereas Mac users have an Apple-shaped halo when it comes to piracy. Fifty percent of Mac users have paid to download music than that of sixteen percent of PC owners. Mac owners also buy more CD’s than their counterparts who buy less CDs. It has been a debate as to whether Mac people are more honest or higher earning then PC owners. There have been many reviews and question and answers to this issue.
The viewers and the reviews give a total different chapter to the story. The users say that if they can afford to buy Macintosh gadget, they will be able to fill additional software which has enough space to download more music. If a PC owner envies Mac users then he is not alone. Apple is rightly famous fWor its innovative user interface design and Mac OS X is fun to use.
Most of the Mac users are unsure of certain security updates or about windows security for which they are notified by Apple executives. The Mac users have to worry for viruses and are vulnerable to Windows viruses if they run emulation software. The Mac users need to worry about spy ware and Mac users have zero viruses as compared to windows 97 users that experience 467 viruses.
Another reason that PC users envy Mac users is Apple is considering porting the Sun’s modern performance file system to Mac OS X. This ZFS file system developed by Sun’s Solaris 10 operating system offers fast performance and support for virtually unlimited capacity with advanced data integrity routines and many more. Based on a transactional object model, ZFS removes most of the traditional constraints on the order of issuing input and output which provides huge performance profits. This new updated Mac window would allow the user to store disks in different computers with different processors.
There are also some people who own PCs and buy a Mactel but will not put windows on his Mactel. If a window owner loves windows he might never buy a Mac. A lot of Mac users enjoy attractive platform features rather than PC owners. Macintosh users know that the Mactel is virus free but don’t make a big deal out of it as they know it would make them susceptible to unwanted attention.
The question that arises here is how can a person know that his Mac OS X has no virus? Apple does not advertise the Mac platforms current immunity to viruses for some obvious reasons. There are certain instructions which a Mac user has to adopt to get a Mac which is virus free. The Mac OS X requires its user to enter an administrator’s password each time he installs software in Mac. Further, the users should employ virus protection software in order to avoid passing virus along the window users.
Windows mounting security problems make some consumers eager enough to purchase a Mac OS X platform. Mac is Apple’s bread and butter despite all the iPod publicity in the market. Unlike window users, Mac OS X users surf the web without a care in the world. Macintosh users who use Microsoft email and internet applications are at less risk from spy ware. Due to all these Macintosh applications PC owners naturally envy Mac users often.

Ah, my friend. If only you knew how often I wish I could allow myself to break free of my thralldom to PCs. I don’t hate my PC at all, understand; I’m used to it and I’m glad I own it, especially since most of the entertainment software I use doesn’t have any Mac equivalents.
Now, you say that Mac users who use Microsoft email and Internet applications are at less risk from spyware? Why’s that? Is it because of Apple software that protects their Macs?

I am a PC user and I do not envy Mac users. The statistics don’t tell the story as there are very few percentage of people in this world that use Macs. Buying Music doesnt make Mac users superior either. I think a big deal is made out of the security of Mac.The Mac OS would not stay virus free if more and more people start using it. Its security is because of its obscurity.

I wouldn’t say that I envy MAC users because I never used then in my whole life. I think that it would be difficult for me to use because I am already used to the pc platform. I guess that this is not the case for everyone. MAC maybe good for others, but for pc users like me who doesn’t have a clue how to use the MAC, it would be difficult.

I think that it would be different for every person since every person has a reason. I think that it is not fair to say that PC users envy MAC users because a PC user is used to the software of PC, if they will be changing to MAC then they must study the software that works on MAC and that will consume some time. Most person doesn’t have much time on their hands.

The main reason that Apples get less virus attention is thus that, they recieve less attention. Once the Apple platform becomes more and more popular, the more virus makers will start to write for the platform. We have already begun to see this when the Iphone first came out. I use Linux, Apple, and even the occassional Wintel box, and virus vulnerability is in direct relation to the popularity of the software, not the operating system itself.

Not sure that it is really envy just think that most people settle because the price is lower. If Apple lowered the price substantially (which they have on some computers) then you would see more and more people changing systems.

I don’t envy mac users and I wouldn’t say that I am more dishonest than them. I look at it as I can’t afford a mac, I can’t afford to pay to download music. This doesn’t mean u slip into the grey area of illegal downloading, i just go without. Allthough if I could afford a mac and to download music from iTunes I probably would.

I don’t think that the stats are right on this. Of course the numbers will look lower/higher when comparing due to the fact that there are MANY MANY MANY more PC users than ever will be MAC users. The ONLY reason why I envy macs is because they have the Air which is THIN AND PORTABLE AND CUTE!

This was quite an amusing article I think. I do not think that pc owners necessarily envy mac owners. I use a pc and the only thing that I don’t like and perhaps envy about the macs is that they take up so much less space than the pcs and they look so much cooler.
