Apple has done it again! The Mac Pro is the mother of all Macs. This machine combines the sleek design of earlier versions with cutting edge specs unmatched even by the most well configured Windows-based machines. With this said, the new Mac Pro by Apple can be configured to handle the most demanding online and offline tasks imaginable; from complex graphic design projects to animation and media. It is ready to satisfy the computer needs of large and small businesses alike and can be configured to be very flexible for specific needs. The Mac Pro is attractive, both externally and internally a with strong multi-core CPU performance.
Apple’s Mac Pro is also pioneering innovations that we hope will cross over to computer systems and priced at around $2500.00, this machine is a great value for anyone wanting to take computing to another level. Boasting solid specs that can make any techie drool, the Mac Pro has two Intel Xeon Dual Core 5150 (2.66 GHz) processors (which makes a total of four); 1 GB DDR II SDRAM RAM installed and a 250 GB Standard hard drive. This is all pre-configured upon purchase.
From the outside, it looks perfect; maintaining the earlier popular design of the Mac G5, with a sleek humble and unintimidating look with minimal buttons at first glance-far more put together than any current Windows PC. Key additions include an added optical-drive slot, an extra USB 2.0 port, and a FireWire 800 jack. The extra USB port and FireWire are a plus in today’s computing environment because it allows users the flexibility of working between machines via external hard drives, since the faster, easy-to-access FireWire 800 input can transmit data more quickly than USB 2.0 or standard FireWire 400. The back panel has a different layout as well. The Mac Pro’s internals are also extremely innovative and laden with new ideas on how to build a next-generation PC. If you are serious computer user and have $2500.00 to spare, the Mac Pro is the PC to purchase even though there is more PC here than you’ll need for day-to-day tasks.
On the downside, the Mac Pro excludes the famous Apple Remote that made the Mac Mini and the iMac immensely popular as home-theater PCs. And despite being a high-end desktop, the Mac Pro it is not intended for the gaming crowd. Adobe has also not released an Intel-friendly version of Adobe Photoshop for the Macintosh so Photoshop users continue to experience some lag in performance although this is too small for the casual user to notice.
A really cool feature of the Mac Pro is the design of the hard drive. Too often, we see hard drives that are hard to remove, or whose power and data cables form a spaghetti-like mess inside the. Instead, Apple has inserted the drives in a row directly under the optical drive cage next to the power supply. Each drive slides into an outward-facing bay. The brackets that they attach to are then numbered on each side to tell you what bay the attached drive belongs to. This prevents you from mixing up your boot drives with your data storage drives, a common mistake with PC setups especially for amateurs. The connections are also lined up and parts require little-to-no force to remove and reinstall.

Oh, I really want this PC ! I have been looking to buy a new pc, and have been shopping around for the best deal, and that’s when I started looking into getting my first Mac. I love all the specs this one has, but the price, is that a normal price range ? It seems a bit pricey to me but I am still new to the whole Mac world.

Macs, unfortunately, tend to be a bit pricier than the average PC. Maybe it’s because Apple is very protective of its hardware/operating systems, but I think that if IBM had never “freed up” its designs/chips and stuff to allow other companies to make “clones” in the late 1980s, we’d be still wondering when home computers would be affordable.
I’m not knocking Apple or the Macs. The first home computer I ever saw and got to use was a 1985 Mac, and my first computer was an Apple IIe - I wanted a Mac but my uncle couldn’t afford one.

Everything Apple does when it concerns the MAC is far better than Windows PC’s could ever be. I am always glad to here when they come out with more things that will entice people to come out and try something they have not. Once you use a mac you never go back. They are higher priced because you are paying for stability and better overall performance. I would choose that anyday.

The more research I do, the more that I come to realize that Mac is a bit pricier for good reason, and if you think about, you will probably end up saving money. Every windows pc I have ever owned has had some kind of security issue be it hackers, spyware, etc. In the long run I would end having to pay an outrageous amount to get something repaired that broke, or would end up having to buy a new computer altogether.
If Mac offers better security, which I have heard time and time that they do, then I am willing to pay a bit extra.

This is very interesting. The specs look pretty impressive to me. I was considering buying it but the price is on the higher side. It supports Windows so thats a plus. I dont think that the Mac OS would be anymore secure than Windows if it were used by the number of people that use Windows. Its just that most people use Windows so virus, malware authors focus on Windows and not Mac OS or Linux. I think its just the people love to hate Microsoft.

That’s true, devil1976. If Mac and its OS were the world standard instead of MS-DOS or Windows, hackers and virus creators would be turning their unwanted and unwelcome attention to them and treat PCs as secondary targets.

I love the specs of this computer; I just hope it also supports 1000 GB hard drives. I’m just wondering why they used 2 dual core processors which will consume more power because it has 2 separate processors. Why didn’t they choose to use 1 Quad core processor.

All I know is that I would absolutely love to get this new macbook pro. I can’t afford it right now unfortunately…but eventually. I love the way it looks and the graphics and the colors are just so bright. It looks like it would be the perfect computer for just about anyone and everyone.
