I have been on a PC from the start of my computer learning but a iMac is starting to look more and more appealing to me. Everyone that I talk to that owns one has a lot of good things to say. The PC has dominated the computer market for a long time but recently the Mac has been gaining some popularity.

I agree, the iMac is one of the most advanced and popular computer in the market today. When it comes to quality it can outperform the PC, the PC is cheap and that’s one of the reasons why the quality is also not good.

Like drew888, I have been a PC user from the get go. I have never truly had a problem with the Mac Platform, it just was not what I was used to. A buddy used to complain that it was okay, but whenever a new game came out. there was rarely a Mac version for months.
I am now in college for animation, and multimedia, and all of my research points to the Mac platform for graphics. So I am soon going to be taking the plunge!

When my current PC starts having “end of useful life” issues, I’ll probably have to buck up and pay a bit more for an iMac to replace it. My big quibble is having to replace all the Windows-based games that I have. Not that I have a lot, but still, we are talking at least $300 in those alone,

As I already said on another thread, I am a pc user for all of my life and it would be hard for me to switch to MAC. I think that different people will have different opinion on this one. I believe that I am entitled to my opinion, I wouldn’t want to switch from a pc to a MAC because I’m already used to PC and in our country I rarely see Mac software, so I guess that using one will be definitely hard on my part.

I have been on PC right from the DOS time and think yes this might be the right time to switch to Mac as now I am away from gaming and also more towards graphics, stability and security.

I’m just wondering why hackers prefer using Linux compatible computers than a Mac or a pc compatible computer. Is it just about the security or there is something more with the UNIX systems that other computers doesn’t have.

When I hear people of moving to one operating system from another, the issue of gamies always comes up. If you are really in a need to play your games, you can always run a dual boot system of Windows and Mac for PC on a PC platform, but I do not think that you can do this with regular mac hardware. If you wanted to run an emulator, you could, but it would not be fast enough for your games.

I became interested in Mac back I heard Halo was going to be on the system. I purchased one and found out the applications as well the hardware was far more user friendly than a pc with MS OS. I became a fan instantly.

I love Macs, one of my first experiences in the 80’s was on an Apple. They have really come a long way and I can see them taking the market once they get to a point where they can compete price wise with MS. I think in the long run they are over all better and systems in general.

As more and more people develop for Mac Environments you will see less problems with game playing.

I too had my first “Mac Attack” back in the 80’s, but never purchased one. I am I did eventually though. It’s been a pleasure to own one, and has now totally sold me against ever going back to PC.

For the longest time I was against mac until my girlfriend told me to use hers. Ever since then I have absolutely loved my mac. My PC had so many problems and in the 2 1/2 years I’ve owned this one computer I have only had 1 problem with it and it was fixed by taking it to the store. It was amazing. I love the macs the quality are so good. I swear I won’t go back to a pc, no matter what.

I think this article makes an excellent point. Apple has definitely been revolutionalizing personal computing. They make it so much simpler and so much more user friendly that people are just attracted to their products. They also make them very visually appealing, which they’ve been doing since the first imac.
