There’s really not much a Apple product can do that other products can’t do. After all a Mac is just another personal computer, an iPhone is still just a phone, and an iPod is just another mp3 player. The thing that makes Apple products stand out from the other products available is the user experience you can only get from Apple. No other product I’ve tried offers the same beauty and smooth experience you get from Apple. And Mac fans know this.Being the owner of an iPhone, Mac, or iPod has become more than just getting the latest tech products its about the user-oriented experience you have when using these gadgets. Owning an Apple product has even become a fashion statement in recent years, but has always been an underlying factor of their popularity since the first Macs hit the market. I know for a fact that some products out there are better than some Apple products. For example I know of some mp3 players that greatly outweigh the functionality of an iPod, but they simply don’t have the sleek look and great user experience that people today are looking for.
Mac World is one of the biggest events in the technology world every year, but we all know how much hype is created when Apple takes their store down for updates or when rumors of a 3G iPhone start brewing.
The hype and fanboyism behind Apple is what has really propelled Apple to the top of the industry. And right around the time that the iPod was first released it was actually cool to become an Apple fan boy. Being a fan boy was no longer just a thing for nerds.
With an ever growing army of Apple fans the hype is only going to grow. We’re living in an age where all this technology is fairly new if you put it into perspective, so many people don’t really know what to make of all the hype. This just goes to show how strong Apple’s marketing department really is. Apple is the master of viral marketing in their industry. Which gets fan boys and everybody else talking about their products, spreading the word and expanding the hype.
The hype surrounding Apple is only going to grow from here and the only way I see it ending is if Apple screws up big. But I don’t really see that happening anytime soon.
The Hype That is Created By Apple Fans

Apple has done a great job of taking advantage of all the ipod hype and with that all of Apple’s products have benefited greatly. The iMac is quickly becoming more and more popular. If Apple can continue to improve it’s products and get the pre-release hype that the iphone did, they’ll continue to gain popularity.

There is something about Apple that’s taken the world by storm. I can say that the difference of the Apple being more popular than the personal computer is simply because of the publicity that apple has done to promote its product. As time goes by, new generation has accepted the fact that owning an Apple is cooler and is always in.

I have stated on another thread here that I am currently a PC user. However I am soon going to be switching over to Mac. That said, I think that Mac products are beginning to move away form being the red headed step child of the industry, and may soon take over as the leader. The Mac is a better platform for graphics( which is why I will be moving over) Also the interface is a lot easier to use, and although Mac systems are initially more expensive, you won’t have to upgrade them every five minutes.

Apple, I agree, has done well - most of the time, anyway - quality-wise with its products, but I think the preponderance of Microsoft and cheaper PCs has been a huge hurdle for the Cupertino, CA, company, to leap over.

Apple has proven itself over the years. I think that Microsoft only got its share of the big market because Apple wasn’t consistent enough during the past years. I think that Apple will get back its loss market in time, all they should do is to be more consistent on upgrading their product and if possible they should also make new products.

The product that amazes me the most is the I-pod. As a music lover I have tried just about every Mp3 available on the market. None of them compare to the I-Pod. It’s not just the crisp sound, but the look and the feel and the weight just make it such an awesome product. I will be getting my daughter my I-Pod shuffle soon and I am sure she will enjoy it just as much as I do..

I agree and I really don’t like he hype which has been created and also I find PSP much better than touch and also iPhone is lagging too much to buy.
But yes in sound they are still the leaders

I guess that some people can’t accept that Apple computer is more reliable than the Personal Computer. Based on what you guys are saying, you don’t agree that Apple is in fact a more credible computer when it comes to business functions.
In my opinion, if you are an entrepreneur then you should go with the crowd and go buy yourself an Apple because your data are safer compare to a pc which has so many virus.

I am a PC user who initially learned about computers from an Apple IIe (don’t groan.) I had to go learn basics in order to program the thing. But it was a positive experience. From there on out, though, most of my experiences were with PCs. I would have occasion to work with Apple again but I have to say I was not impressed. Perhaps it was just the case of taking someone else’s ball and running with it (after all, Apple did come up with the user-friendly interface first) but I found and still find it difficult to get around a Mac. I was just on one yesterday and was bitterly disappointed as I was told it was the state-of-the-art piece of work. I would have to be sold on more than sleekness and graphics in order to make a switch.

People cannot accept it because people don’t want to change to something that is not comfortable to them. Too many think that their application will not run on Apple pcs. However, even just for safety issues alone, that would be enough for me. I have lost too many windows based pcs due to shabby protection.

I think that the biggest fanboy for Apple right now is actually the girls. I have seen so many girls running around bragging about the Ipod and Iphone that I was wondering if the guys even had one. I think that this is a very good thing for Apple. Gone are the days when a person using an apple was thought to be working for the local school district or design firm. I think that the shift from desk and loptops computing to more life integrated platforms will continue to escalate, but us guys still like the look of a tower PC lit up like a christmas tree.

Anyone who knows computers know how the Apple line of computers surpasses the MS windows. Stability of an operating system is a key for people who want the environment instead of using linux or unix systems. Also you have a greater ability when creating graphics with a Mac.
Just because they are more popular with girls or no longer on the arm of designers and so on it does not matter. If they could come up with a lower priced model for a few year they would take the market and force MS to change something.

Its not the Hype, its the beauty and quality that has made Apple so popular. And the iPhone is not just another phone, it has great intelligent features that no other phone offer.

Well Apple have great quality of products and we know everytime they come with new look and features. They have iTunes, iPhones and Mac. Al products are more better than other. They have a quality which makes them more reputable brand.

I would definitely have to agree with this! I mean I’ve used so many different brands and whatnot but nothing really compares to when I use an apple. Ever since switching for an apple laptop I swear I will never go back to a regular pc. And the quality and customer service are amazing.

The problem isn’t Apple’s computers quality or security. I agree with Leighdu that Apple products are better and safer, particularly as far as Internet viruses and OS loopholes are concerned.
What hampered Apple’s strategy was that IBM and Microsoft formed a symbiosis that led to the development of cheaper and more numerous PC clones in the late 1980s that has led us to where we are.

This is very true I think. Excellent article in my opinion. Apple has created a huge following of people who pretty much buy any product they release. Even if they have an ipod they buy the next one that comes out with more space. Then they buy the ipod nano. It was an intelligent move on Apple’s part to get a fan base like this.
