Hon Hai Precision Industry Co, going by revenue, the world’s largest contract electronics maker is in the race to bag the contract to make the newest model of the third generation iPhone that is soon to come, reported Commercial Times recently. Though authorities and sources have not been specifically mentioned, the paper reported on Friday that Hon Hai going by the name Foxconn has been bidding for the contract.

Hon Hai’s bidding on the order for the manufacturing around ten million sets comes as no surprise, as a long association with Apple as a partner for manufacturing its products and it comes as no surprise if they have been awarded the contract so prestigious , of the upcoming 3G iPhone. On the other hand, some sources have reported the alleged close of deal between Apple and Hon Hai.

Not unlike the numerous high end consumer electronics companies and personal computer manufacturers, Apple does not make its products by itself. It chooses to give out the work to its hired specialists in manufacturing, mostly Taiwanese companies that choose to assemble the electronics by Apple’s designs using its wide resources to maximum utility. The parts use may also include other smaller manufactures mostly from the Orient.

Apple spokeswoman Jill Tan declined to comment. Apple has always been reluctant to discuss its manufacturing relationship with these companies and has always shied away from revealing such details to the media or clients. If not anything, it will at the least be out by May this year when the analysts expect these iPhones to be released.
