imacRight on the footsteps of early bird rumors claiming that iMac would finally be given a makeover in the form of the release of a new version next week; numerous sources on the World Wide Web have been saying that the new iMac part numbers have actually appeared in their systems.  The existing iMac configurations and the prices for the U.S. systems, it seems are identical if not similar. The prices are at $1199, $1499 and $1799. The inventory is all set to be delivered in the beginning of next week, say Monday or Tuesday. Every store owner is close mouthed about it and the stores have been strong in saying that they see no ‘evidence’ of revisions in the Mac mini product. Nevertheless, as it appears, it is only the iMac that has had the privilege of being updated.

The iMac was last given a facelift in August of 2007. With the introduction of the Penryn Intel CPUs and that being the obvious upgrade, rumors leading up to the revision of the iMac have been comparatively non existent. It was sometime indeed notable that the Penryn’s power consumption will not be particularly beneficial to desktop computers. It was even said that unless Apple adds other compelling features to the next iMac version, one may want to think before taking the leap of buying the newest Mac. Now is the time to go get it. In addition to that, Apple may throw in upgrades of other iMac parts like video card, RAM and even the hard drive.
