It is entirely possible that AT & T has given away Apple’s secrets as far as the iPhone due this summer is concerned. If you buy a next-generation, 3G-capable iPhone with a two-year AT&T Wireless contract, AT&T will take $200 off the sticker price. If this report does fructify into reality, it’s a rather daring venture. The discount of course would not apply to iPhones bought at the Apple store, and therefore, AT & T would make a quick buck there and permanently borrow retail sales from Apple themselves.
The iPhone today has attained cult status. It sells as fast as it can be manufactured. Outright shortages have been witnessed before. Sensible business would mean, AT & T would not have to lower their rates unless of course, the next iteration is sought to be sold over multiple carriers.
If AT & T is pressed to compete against Verizon and other carriers, the customer might well end up being the King of the Bargain Empire. Not only AT & T but other carriers might begin slashing prices in the name of competition as well. Of course, it is evident that the real winner is Apple. The present scenario of AT & T hype might just be a blind test run by Steve Jobs who then might intend to open up to the entire market after evaluating response to the product first. Again it’s all conjecture and speculations at this point. Two month count down till we get to know if reality matches up.

I never knew before that AT&T has a partnership with Apple. I’m glad that I have come across this blog wherein I could have acquired many facts around Mac. I think that it would be better if we will buy this after a few months. I have used this method before whenever I have seen something new in the market because I believe this new gadget or software has a few bugs on them that the manufacturers are letting us to test.

THANK YOU ! for posting this very valuable piece of information. You see, I have a Blackberry and it is time for a new one. I’ve been on the fence about whether to get a newer version of the Blackberry or the iPhone. I planned to purchase at the MAC store because my husband is an educator and is able to obtain a 10% discount from MAC. I can save even more now ever since reading this posting and I will most definitely need go an AT & T vendor now for this purchase. Thanks again!

After reading this- I had met an old friend of mine that happens to work for the MAC store. I mentioned this incredible deal that ATT&T was promoting for iphones. He told me that it isn’t true and ATT&T is not offering that type of deal. THat didn’t deter me though- I am still willing to look into it through ATT&T.

I didn’t know that AT&T had any type of deal like that. I was just as the store looking for the iphone for my boyfriend but nothing was said about them taking $200 off the purchasing price. I wonder why that was.

I think this was long overdue. Soon microsoft will try to copy them. Apple is very clever and they are always finding new ways to get the public to buy their products and this in turn is making the Apple brand more and more popular. First the ipod then the iphone. They will definitely be in the news more often.
