iphone burglarAn announcement has come through from Hutchinson, the parent company of Three Mobile that they would soon be selling the iPhones to Hong Kong and Macau. Hutchinson’s press release, as brief as ever, said: “Hutchison Telecommunications (Hong Kong) Limited today announced that it has signed an agreement with Apple to bring the iPhone to Hong Kong and Macau later this year.”

As to when exactly three mobile would sell the iPhone in Australia, even Rumor Ville remains silent with not a whisper of possible dates. Coincidentally, Telstra chooses to remain silent as well. ‘If neither company announces an iPhone sales deal pre-June 9, such a deal could still be issued post June 9. Such things could also depend on 3G iPhone stocks, of which there may simply not be enough to go around for all carriers just yet.’

For a little background on three mobile, three mobile is a popular telecommunications services provider well known for its leadership in bringing 3G communication services to the forefront. In Hong Kong and Macau, they also resell GSM and CDMA services in addition to the 3G telecommunication services that they proffer. The iPhone coming up of course is sure to be a 3G as has been widely speculated, postulated and now accepted.

In the light of such alliances, it is also pertinent to bring to notice recent news items on employees of Apple or their allies being accused, investigated and fired for instances of abusing their entitlement to discounts on Apple’s iPhones by buying handsets at the reduced rates and reselling them at a higher price online. Of late, six O2 employees have reportedly been fired with another 20 queuing up for investigations. A warning indeed as Apple forges more and more allies to market its iPhone.

Wow I’m surprised to not have heard about employees selling the iphones and the headsets for higher prices. That would be so easy for someone to do. It’s a good thing that apple had found these people and fired them. And I like how Apple is trying to get their products to other countries…that’s good for their market.

Apple is trying to increase its base quite rapidly, and through iPod and iPhone they have already caught the imagination and would just love to expand its horizons where demand is more , especially Europe and Asia.
